Music for Families, Inc. was originally
established in January 1999 by Lisa Larsson as "Music Together
of the Mid-Peninsula," a name which can still be found in some
of our literature and advertising. In June 2000 Kristine Ortega
joined the business and in June of 2001 became equal partner. Together,
Lisa & Kristine were able to offer the wonderful Music Together®
program to more families. In July of 2003, Lisa left the business
to pursue other aspirations and Kristine became sole director. Shortly
thereafter, Kristine changed the company name to Music for Families,
Inc. in an effort to properly describe the mission of our company
and convey the message that our programs are for not just the child,
but for the family as a whole.
Today
Music for Families offers classes year-round in cities along the
Peninsula to over 1000 families, and we continue to look for interesting
ways to expand and develop our programs to help families bring music
into their homes.
